New addition to the AAOKH science team: Alexandra Ravelo

We are thrilled to welcome Alexandra Ravelo as a postdoctoral fellow to our AAOKH science team!

Alex shares: “I am a marine ecologist specialized in invertebrate community ecology and near shore ecosystems. My doctoral thesis focused on describing patterns of invertebrate communities on the Alaska Arctic shelves and the environmental drivers that influence community metrics and species distribution. Currently, I live in Homer where I enjoy exploring Kachemak Bay with my dog Bandit. I’m excited to join the AAOKH team as a postdoctoral fellow under the direction of Dr. Donna Hauser, and the opportunity to work in the Arctic once again.”

Stay tuned to learn more about Alex’s research and work with AAOKH and reach out to her by email: amravelo [AT] alaska.edu!
